Con Dao Island
Coming to Con Dao (or with other names like Con Son, Con Lon) has reminded listeners of a hazy image of a remote, obscure area, sometimes likened to the famous hell on earth since the war. French-Vietnamese war until mid-1975.
Con Dao today is one of the most attractive tourist destinations in Vietnam. If Con Dao was known as a scary prison in the past, a place of torture and pain, Con Dao is recently known as a tourist destination of the sea and island that is interested by domestic and foreign tourists. We visited Ho Chi Minh City. An excellent 1-day tour of the city, with SaigonGlobal Tour, Ms. Ly, who was really knowledgeable, to temples, the Cathedral, old Post Office, Market and War Remnants Museum. We couldn’t have been more impressed, with all our many questions answered during the tour.
Such friendly and knowledgeable people who were able to answer all our questions about the city and the history from the terrible war.
Overall a good tour though we didn’t manage to visit Ben Thanh Market which was closed during the Tet Holidays.
